DEVELOPMENT OF ASTRAX ZERO GRAVITY AIRCRAFT EDUCATION AND TRAINING SIMULATOR

Abstract:

Commercial space travel has started worldwide in 2021, and the demand for zero gravity flight has also been increasing. In Japan, ASTRAX has been providing zero gravity flight services using an aircraft owned by Diamond Air Service since 2012. In the case of a simple experiment, called a simple zero gravity experiment, the experiment can be completed simply by boarding the zero gravity airplane on the day of the flight. In the case of television filming, however, it is necessary to conduct in-flight checks and rehearsals in advance using the actual aircraft. The actual aircraft is usually used for other flight services, making it difficult to use it for in-flight checks and rehearsals in advance. To accommodate this issue, ASTRAX has developed a simulator that can be used for in-flight checks and rehearsals using a zero gravity aircraft, as well as for education and training for personnel involved. In this paper, the outline and functions of the simulator developed by ASTRAX will be introduced, and its usage and future possibilities will also be presented.

DEVELOPMENT OF COMMERCIAL SPACECRAFT EDUCATION AND TRAINING SIMULATOR USING THE METAVERSE

Abstract:

ASTRAX is developing a commercial spacecraft education and training simulator using the Metaverse in preparation for the advent of the era of commercial space travel. The development of a hardware-based educational training simulator requires a large amount of money just for its production, and an even larger amount for its maintenance and operation. In addition, to actually use the simulator, one must visit the location where the simulator is installed. The positive side is that a simulator using the Metaverse can be accessed online from anywhere in the world, and its development and operation do not cost as much as hardware. As an example, this paper introduces a Metaverse simulator that simulates the spacecraft Neptune by Space Perspective, Inc.

ANALYSIS OF PASSENGERS' NEEDS AND DEMANDS OF ASTRAX ZERO GRAVITY SERVICES AND APPLICATION FOR SPACE TRAVEL SERVICES

Abstract:

ASTRAX’s zero gravity flight services are offered in several countries around the world, including the United States, Russia, France, and Japan. ASTRAX, a Japanese private space services company, has been offering ASTRAX’s original zero gravity flight service for general customers, not researchers in Japan since 2012, using Diamond Air Services’ small jets. So far, 20 flights have been conducted, and each client has fulfilled various dreams through zero gravity flights. By fulfilling various needs and requests in zero gravity flights, we will be able to fulfill new needs and requests in space travel. Therefore, based on these experiences and experiments, ASTRAX analyzes and predicts the needs and desires of space travelers (what they want to do in a spacecraft, such as weddings, marriage proposals, model shoots, commercial shoots, drinking parties, fashion shows, musical instrument performances, and music concerts), and develops various technologies and services to meet those needs.
This paper describes the results of the analysis of customer needs in microgravity flights in Japan, the issues derived from the analysis, and the possibility of developing new needs and applying them to commercial spaceflight in the coming space travel era.

The Senses and Creativity that can be Achieved by Bringing Entertainment in Space

Abstract:

Throughout human history, new value has been created as artists have expanded their activities: after 2023, Japanese entrepreneur and billionaire Yusaku Maezawa plans to take his artists on a trip around the Moon. As space travel becomes more common, there will be more opportunities for artists to perform in space, playing instruments, singing, and dancing. We believe that artists will need different senses and abilities to perform in a different gravitational environment than on Earth, and at the same time, viewers will gain a different awareness of their performance than they do on Earth. In other words, as artists expand the scope of their activities to outer space, the Moon, and Mars, new sensations and new creativity will emerge.
In this paper, we present the details of our hypothesis and the process of testing it to see how this new sensation and creativity will affect and change human life in space.

Technology, Problems and Solutions for Drinking Alcohol in Space

Abstract:

There are various history and examples of alcoholic beverages in space. For example, in the past, yeast strains and raw materials necessary for fermenting alcoholic beverages have been taken to space, brought back to Earth, and brewed into space liquor, such as space SHOCHU, and space beer. The wine itself was taken into space, allowed to brew for more than a year, and brought back to the auction where it was auctioned off for more than 100 million yen and became the talk of the town. These products have been developed mainly for drinking on Earth. In the future, as more and more people travel to space and stay in space for longer periods, the need for alcoholic beverages that can be drinkable in space will increase.
This paper will present the technologies, problems, and solutions needed to fulfill these needs.

Technology, Challenges, and Solutions for Space Travel Meals as Represented by "Yakitori", Grilled Chicken

Abstract:

Have you ever heard of 'Yakitori'? It is a Japanese dish consisting of several bite-sized pieces of chicken skewered, tossed in sweet and spicy sauce or salt, and grilled. It is popular in Japanese izakaya (Japanese-style pubs) to eat yakitori while drinking beer. Yakitori is already one of the space foods eaten by Japanese astronauts on the International Space Station and elsewhere. However, its form is not a few bites of chicken on a skewer, but rather yakitori that has been removed from the skewer and placed in a can. The era of space travel will be in full swing in the future, and many people will travel to space. It is easy to predict that the need will gradually increase not only to go to space but also to eat and drink their favorite food in space. They will also be more particular about the shape of their grilled chicken and the preference of it to be skewered. In this paper, we will take eating skewered yakitori in space as an example, and discuss the necessary technology, problems, and solutions for a rich meal in space.

Possibility of Developing Japanese Culture through “NATTO” in Space

Abstract:

In Japan, there is a food called "Natto" (fermented soybeans). Natto is made from fermented soybeans and has a distinctive smell and consistency that divides the likes and dislikes among Japanese people. It is highly nutritious and can be preserved better than fresh food that can be eaten without processing. In the past, Natto had been made by taking the Natto bacillus to the International Space Station and brought back to Earth has been sold in the market. However, Natto has not yet been certified as a space food by NASA or JAXA. Is it possible to make and eat Natto in space? In this paper, we discuss Natto as one of the Japanese food cultures and the possibility to expand the food culture in space.

LOCAL REVITALIZATION PROJECT TO TURN MY HOMETOWN,
KOMONO TOWN, INTO "SPACE TOWN"

Abstract:

In Japan, the concentration of population in urban areas and the declining birthrate and aging pop- ulation have led to the decline of rural areas. To solve this problem, I have planned and started to put into practice a space project to revitalize the region by turning my hometown, Komono Town, into ”space town.”
First, we have initiated activities to introduce space education programs to schools in order to get parents and children living in Komono Town interested in private space travel and the private space business. Specifically, we visit the mayor of the municipality and the board of education, and hold lectures by private astronauts at elementary and junior high schools to implement the program to give children a dream.
In addition to children, we also offer lectures on commercial space travel for elderly people living in Komono Town. Nearly half of the population of Komono Town is elderly. By having a goal of space travel, the elderly will find a purpose in life, which will enhance their vitality and revitalize the community.
Furthermore, we will make effective use of vacant houses and land owned by the elderly by converting them into places to practice private space education. We will also attract tourists from other regions by offering space tours to simulate space travel with private astronauts using a private spacecraft education and training simulator, which was created by converting a camping trailer.
In this paper, I report the results of my examination of the project to revitalize my hometown, Komono Town, as a rural area by turning it into ”space town,” as well as the issues involved in the implementation of the project.

METHODS AND PRACTICES FOR INTRODUCING PRIVATE SPACE EDUCATION PROGRAMS
INTO JAPANESE SCHOOLS

Abstract:

論文発表後、学習塾SKIP(Star Kids International Program)では、上記の宇宙教育プログラムを、学校現場に導入するための宇宙教育活動を開始しています。

Private space travel began in 2021, and more and more children are becoming interested in space travel. However, there are no classes in the Japanese school curriculum to learn about civilian space exploration. In addition, Japanese children are too busy studying for school tests, lessons, or entrance exams for higher education, making it difficult for them to maintain their curiosity about space travel. Therefore, to solve these problems, the 2022 paper outlines a” A SPACE EDUCATION PROGRAM TO SOLVE THE SHORTAGE OF COMMERCIAL SPACE TEACHERS IN JAPANESE SCHOOLS”
After the publication of the paper, the Star Kids International Program (SKIP), a tutoring school, has started space education activities to introduce the above space education program to school sites. Specifically, we will visit mayors and boards of education of local governments and hold lectures by commercial astronauts at elementary and junior high schools to implement the program to give children dreams.
And to maintain the curiosity about space travel aroused by the lectures, we will create a space education online community to provide regular opportunities to learn about commercial space development and interact with commercial astronauts. Furthermore, by inviting children from other countries to join this space education online community, we will also provide opportunities to interact with children across borders on the theme of civilian space travel. We will also invite children from other countries to join this space education online community.
In this paper, we report on the issues involved in implementing a private space education program in Japanese schools and the results of our examination of its educational effects.

Astrology in the Space Age: What will happen to the horoscopes of those born on the Mars?

Abstract:

The space travel age has finally begun, and the sphere of life for the average person is about to extend into the space. In the future, the scope of earthly culture and human consciousness will extend into space. Many types of fortune-telling exist, including dream fortune-telling, book fortune-telling, omikuji, and astrology, and numerous people use these in their daily lives. According to one survey, more than 60 Astrology is said to have originated from large-scale astronomical observations made in ancient Babylonia, which later spread to the West, Middle East, and Asia. Until now, astrology has been based on heliocentric theory and centered on Earth, but as space travel becomes more common, the location of the center will be outside of Earth, changing the fundamental principles of astrology. We have investigated and discussed the possibility of astrology when the reference point is the Moon or Mars and how an objective view of the Earth will affect the consciousness of humankind.

DEVELOPMENT OF A “TELIPPER” FOR INTRA-SPACECRAFT TRANSPORTATION

Abstract:

When people walk on the ground, they may wear socks, shoes, or slippers. On the other hand, when astronauts move around in a spacecraft, they usually do not use their feet, but use their hands to push against walls or grab onto handles with their hands. The same is true for the increasing number of space tourists, who will also use their hands to move around the spacecraft. In other words, in space, it is as if you are walking with your hands on the ground instead of your feet. Therefore, ASTRAX is planning to develop a glove-like protective tool (called Telipper) as a sock (slipper) for space, which acts like the socks and slippers we use when walking on the ground. In this paper, the necessity and structure of the Telipper will be introduced.

POSSIBILITY OF ZERO-GRAVITY FLIGHT SERVICE BY MRJ (MITSUBISHI REGIONAL JET)

Abstract:

Japan has been developing a domestically produced passenger plane called the MRJ (Mitsubishi Regional Jet) since 2008 where 10 planes were manufactured and test-flown. However, due to the rash of development delays and the effects of COVID-19, development has been frozen in 2020. If this situation continues, the development of MRJ may end up completely in vain. Therefore, ASTRAX is investigating the possibility of using the MRJ in this development stage to develop a zero -gravity flight service in Japan and the rest of Asia. In this paper, while analyzing the advantages and disadvantages of MRJ, we will present a summary of ideas and issues to approve MRJ not as a passenger plane, but as a special plane for experiments and research to use it for zero-gravity flight services in Japan and the rest of Asia.

DEVELOPMENT OF ASTRAX COMMERCIAL SPACECRAFT EDUCATION AND TRAINING SIMULATORS

Abstract:

In the year 2021, the world will be able to travel into space by commercial spacecraft, and many people around the world will be able to fly into space. ASTRAX has developed commercial spacecraft training simulators for World View Enterprises’ Voyager, Virgin Galactic’s Unity, SpaceX’s Crew Dragon, and Blue Origin’s New Shepard. These simulators are not used for spacecraft development or pilot training by spacecraft development companies, but rather for customers who will be flying on each company’s spacecraft to understand the structure of the spacecraft, and to rehearse and train them for the mission arrangements they want to achieve in space.
This paper introduces the roles, functions, and achievements of various commercial spacecraft training simulators, including the latest commercial spacecraft training simulator produced by ASTRAX and various technologies to increase the success rate of these missions.

DEVELOPMENT OF SPACE SHOWER MADE IN JAPAN

Abstract:

The era of commercial space travel has begun, and people from all over the world can now go to space. As more and more space travelers start to venture into space, it is easy to imagine that the need for showers and baths will increase. However, at present, showers and baths are not installed in long-duration spacecrafts such as the International Space Station. On the other hand, in Japan, where natural disasters such as earthquakes and typhoons are common, there are many companies that provide water circulation showers and water reclamation systems for disaster relief. ASTRAX is planning to develop a shower for space use by combining these technologies and products.
In this paper, we will present the development status, progress, and future plans of ASTRAX space showers.

PRODUCTION OF SPACE SUITS AND REPLICAS FOR SPACE TRAVEL

Abstract:

As of 2022, what space travelers will wear when they go to space depends on the design and decisions of the spacecraft development companies. Since we are in a transitional period, many aboard the spacecraft passengers will be wearing jump suit type space suits for a while. The space suits are evolving and becoming simpler and simpler. That’s fine the meantime, but in the future, customers will want to go into space dressed freely, just like when they board an airplane or a ship.
This paper redefines what space travelers wear when they go to space by dividing them into four categories: conventional flight suits, recent flight suits, future flight suits, and free attire. The findings from making replicas of space suits, and discussion of the results of our study on the merits and demerits of each category will be included as well.

ADVANCED SPACE SERVICE ACCESS APPLICATION TOOL
“ASTRAX UNIVERSAL USER INTERFACE (ASTRAX U2U)”

Abstract:
この宇宙用プラットフォームを「USP(Universal Service Platform)」と呼んでいます。

The era of space travel is upon us, where even ordinary people can go to space. However, specific tools and systems to support life in space do not exist yet, and there is a need to realize them in preparation for the deployment of space travel to the Moon, Mars, and the solar system. ASTRAX is developing the U2U (Universal User Interface) as an application tool for space service providers to input space products and services to this platform according to their customers’ needs. The idea is to use blockchain technology to identify users, both space service providers and space customers such as space travelers, and to manage, match, and provide all supply (products and services) and demand needs in the blockchain. Although it looks similar to an Amazon application, the target is not only Earth; U2U can be designed to be used before and during spaceflight, as well as during stays on the Moon and Mars. We call this space platform the Universal Service Platform (USP). In addition, all the value metrics required for use and provision are matched using the Solar System Common Value Metrics (ASTRAX VALUE) operating in U2U. This is similar to a cryptocurrency but cannot be redeemed for cash. It is a common value standard that is determined instantaneously among people who create and/or enjoy goods and services. At ASTRAX, many people have applied for space travel, including those who have experienced zero gravity, taken courses, listened to lectures, participated in tours, members of the lunar city, and advisory companies. We are building connections with relevant customer lists and creating a limited platform for dedicated tools and temporary value criteria (ASTRAX VALUE) for those people and services. This platform will be an open-source platform, where users as service providers will be able to add their own products and services. Those products and services will be available to users as customers without the need for permission. For example, if you use these tools (ASTRAX USP, ASTRAX VALUE, and ASTRAX U2U) to sign up for space travel, you will have everything you need for space travel. This will require the integration of ASTRAX’s product development, service development, business development, human resource development, training, and rehearsal systems to support human behavior in meeting their needs from anywhere in the solar system. In this paper, details of ASTRAX U2U, an application tool that can be used to provide everything needed in space, will be presented.
